Historical information: Eset Kokuly was born in the second half of the 17th and the first half of the 17th century. He came from the Tama clan as part of Zhetyru of the Younger Zhuz. Together with the batyrs, Zhanibek and Bokenbay show special persistence and perseverance in preventing threats from the Dzungars. In 1717-1718, under the leadership of Abilkayir and Kayip, in such a battle of the Kazakh detachment with the Dzungars as on the banks of the Bogen, Shayan and Arys rivers, at the foot of Turkestan and Ayagoz, Eset batyr showed his military leadership. In 1726, at Ordabasy, all Kazakh militias were convened, led by Abilkayyr. In 1727, after the great disasters “Aktaban shubyryndy, Alkakol sulans”, on the banks of the Bulanty River, a significant blow was struck for the first time on the Oirat army. The place of the battle has been preserved in the memory of the people under the name “Kalmak kyrylgan”. Two years later, in the valley of Anyrakay near Lake Balkhash, in a decisive battle between the Kazakhs and the Oirat forces, the enemy army was defeated. In this battle, Eset batyr commanded the troops of the Younger Zhuz. The further life of Eset batyr develops in close contact with the political activities of Abilkayir Khan.
