Object name and date: Keper-tama mausoleum. Second half of the 19th century
Location: Aktobe region, 40 km east-north-east of the village. Karabutak.
Description: octahedral domed centric mausoleum with a rectangular entrance in the southern face. The walls of the octahedron from the outside have a frame solution: corner blades, a 7-row base and a poorly preserved cornice, which ended with a bursting belt of curved bricks, laid on the edge. Above, there was a characteristic ribbed drum (preserved only in its northern section), which turned into a sphero-conical dome (false vault). The base of the dome is a two-tier system of sails-trumpets, the mausoleum is made of adobe bricks and faced with burnt bricks, with the same dimensions – 8 x 16 x 32 cm. A combined “in-line” masonry is also used under the shirt layer.
