Object name and date: Karagul-tama mausoleum, end of the 19th century.
Location: Aktobe region, Mugalzharsky district, 10 km south-east of the village. Borly.
Description: octahedral in plan domed mausoleum, folded by combined masonry of burnt (outer parts of the walls) and adobe bricks on clay mortar. There is no foundation. On the base of the building, which has a slight slope, rests a 17-sided drum, turning into a sphero-conical dome. The entrance to the mausoleum is arranged in the form of a vestibule with a window on the axis of the inner opening to the chamber. The latter is square in plan and covered with a radial-wedge dome with deep angular trumpets. The walls of the interior are decorated with deep lancet niches, all internal surfaces are plastered with clay-adobe mortar. On the floor of the burial chamber there are depressions from two burials. The height of the mausoleum is 6.70 m, the distance between the outer edges is 7.70 m.
In 2007-2009. the mausoleum of Karagul-tama was restored.
