Historical information: Nurpeis Hazret is a well-known theologian, public figure, scientist who, along with religious literacy, mastered the Persian and Arabic languages well. The original building of the mosque was a two-story building. On the ground floor there was a large prayer hall, an entrance hall and another room. On the second floor there was a madrasah for children and a storage of sacred books. Who built this mosque is unknown. In Soviet times, this mosque was a club. Later it was a school and a school gym. Currently, the two-story sports hall has retained its paintwork. Nurpeis Baigarauly – was born in the area of Tomarotkel, Karatobe in the Chingirlau region of Western Kazakhstan. The famous scientist lived in the years 1817-1880. As a child, after receiving knowledge from a rural mullah, he studied for 6 years at the Kogiltash madrasah in Bukhara. Later he studied for four years in the Arab city of Sham, returned to his homeland educated. Returning to his homeland, he was at a reception with the tsar in St. Petersburg. The king advised Nurpeis Khazret to promote the religion of Islam and build several mosques on the banks of the Zhaiyk, Ilek, Or and Kargala rivers. In the hands of Nurpeis Khazret was the tsar’s decree “Create all conditions for the construction of a mosque.” Having settled in the village of Karabutak, Kargalinsky district, Nurpeis Khazret begins work on the construction of a mosque.
