Mass grave of soldiers who died in the Aktobe hospital during the Great Patriotic War

Historical information: During the Great Patriotic War in 1941-1945 years in Aktobe city there were several hospitals, where soldiers of the Soviet Army received the necessary medical care to return to their duty. Soldiers, who died from serious wounds, were buried in municipal cemetery in the common graves.

Monument description: On the common grave a 3-meter gypsum sculpture of a soldier, frozen in mournful silence. The sculpture is set on a two-stepped pedestal of concrete, the height of which is 0.80 m. Next to the sculpture is a stele, on which is a marble plate with 38 carved names of soldiers. Next to it is a second common grave. The tombstone is in the form of a three-stage concrete rectangle. On the upper plate of the tombstone there is a bas-relief of the flag made of concrete and the inscription over the flag: “Eternal glory to the heroes”. On the first step of the tombstone there is a metal table attached with 24 names of soldiers carved on it.
