Historical information: Azhmagi Smagulov – candidate of medical sciences, professor. Born in 1932 in the village of Kenkiyak, Temir district, into a peasant family. In 1955, after graduating from the Alma-Ata State Medical Institute, he got a job as a doctor at the Zhurunskaya hospital . Since 1958 – Junior Researcher, Assistant, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Radiology of the Institute for Advanced Training of Doctors in Almaty. Based on the results of these scientific studies, in 1963 he defended his Ph.D. thesis on the topic: “Some problems of the pathogenesis of vascular disorders during radiation therapy.” In 1971, Azhmagi Smagulov, by order of the Ministry of Health of the Kazakh SSR, was appointed rector of the Aktobe State Medical Institute and headed this educational institution until his retirement in 1995.
Description and characteristics of the monument: Bust of Azhmagi Smagulov cast in bronze and painted in golden color. The total height of the monument is 3.79 m. The height of the base is 56 cm, the height of the pedestal is 1.98 m, the height of the statue is 1.25 m. The length of the base is 2.58 m, the width is 2.70 m. The length of the pedestal is 78 cm, width – 56 cm.
