Monument-obelisk to Aktobe residents who participated in the liquidation of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident in 1986-1990.

The monument depicts the palms of a man with atoms inside. The height of the monument is 2.4 meters. Thus, a young Kazakhstani sculptor, author of the monument to Aiteke bi in the city of Aktobe, Zhenis Zhubankosov, showed the share of all people, including Aktobe residents, who fought for the consequences of the accident at the nuclear power plant. Hundreds of thousands of people took part in the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the nuclear power plant, many of whom became disabled, died or ruined their health. According to the chairman of the Public Association “Victims of Chernobyl” Bakytzhan Satov, today 278 people live in the region who took part in the liquidation of the consequences of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. By the decision of the regional maslikhat, since 2007, Aktobe Chernobyl victims have been exempted from paying utility bills, they have the right to free travel on public transport.
