Historical Background: Sankibai Batyr was one of the historical figures of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, a time marked by military conflicts and the struggle of the Kazakh people to defend their land and freedom. He is remembered among the contemporaries of Khan Abulkhair, Eset Batyr and Azhybai Bi.

In oral historical memory, Sankibai Batyr is described as a warrior who showed courage and determination during the period of resistance against Kalmyk raids. According to traditional accounts, he supported the forces led by Azhybai Bi and Aral Batyr in defending the western lands of the Kazakh steppe.

The name of Sankibai Batyr holds a special place in the historical memory of Aktobe. One of the city’s avenues bears his name, and this monument was erected in a prominent public space of the regional center.

Description of the Monument: The monument is designed as a bust of Sankibai Batyr wearing warrior armor. The total height of the monument is 6.4 meters. The stylobate is 60 centimeters high, with a length and width of 7 meters.

The pedestal has a three-tier structure: the first tier is 1.5 meters high, the second is 30 centimeters high, and the third is 1.9 meters high. The sculpture itself is 2.7 meters high. A four-step staircase is placed at the front of the monument, with each step measuring 15 centimeters in height.

The first tier of the pedestal measures 2.1 by 2.1 meters. The second tier is 1.6 meters long and 1.5 meters wide. The third tier is 1.3 meters long and 1.2 meters wide.

The names of people who contributed to the creation of the monument are inscribed on the pedestal. This shows that the monument is not only a memorial to a historical figure, but also the result of public initiative and community support.

Opening of the Monument: The monument to Sankibai Batyr was solemnly unveiled in Aktobe on 6 July 2014. The ceremony was dedicated to Capital Day.
